Meet Peppa Pig, Suzy Sheep and Rebecca Rabbit
Sharing stories about wellies, lorries, trousers and family holidays, the long-running British children’s series featuring the loveable, slightly bossy little four-year-old Peppy Pig has won the hearts of many a pre-schooler.
Oinkmania
There are Peppa Pig books, television shows, clothing and toys so why not a Peppa Pig Theme Park as well. In case you haven’t heard, the world’s first Peppa Pig Theme Park is next to Legoland in Florida and given the fact that it’s a new build, there’s lots for kids living with disabilities to enjoy. The park is also a Certified Autism Centre.
Fun for everyone
First up, there’s a purpose-built ride vehicle that’s wheelchair friendly. Guests can also enjoy sky high views in Peppa Pig’s Balloon Ride that’s also suitable for children who are wheelchair users. Experiences include an indoor cinema, a Fun Fair, George’s Fort and George’s Tricycle Trial as well as a Show Time area for live shows. Other members of the family might also want to explore Daddy Pig’s Roller Coaster, Grampy Rabbit’s Dinosaur Adventure and Peppa’s Tree House.
Ahead of time
Created for families who are planning their visit, the Park’s website: The Hero Accessibility Guide and a detailed sensory guide for guests living with cognitive disabilities including ASD. Detailed charts by ride and attraction offer touch, taste, sound, sight, smell ratings, a simple park map and accessibility access, ride restrictions and recommendations for each attraction. And, just a reminder, “watch out for those muddy puddles”, if you happen to visit on a rainy day.
